Retama Residence Hall Renovation

The existing 31,255 GSF building is a two-story residence hall built on a sloping site in the center of campus. The original residence hall needed a major remodeling to comply with building code, accessibility recommendations, state energy requirements, and security.

 

The Retama Hall renovations development included site improvements such as a new water, wastewater, and communication extensions from the Bobcat Trail project in LBJ to Retama Hall. Additional areas were included such as a two-bedroom staff apartment, staff office, front desk, mail room, two study rooms/areas, one kitchen, two laundry rooms, public restrooms, and a lobby/lounge space. An elevator was installed, and all areas follow Texas Accessibility Standards. Also, sidewalks and stairs at N LBJ entry to were remodeled. GarzaEMC provided associated civil engineering services and construction administration.
