The Fort Hood Shopping Center project consisted of a new 244,000 GSF Base Exchange (BX) building for the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) on a 25-acre parcel on Fort Hood. The BX now provides a retail store, food concepts and concession spaces. The site work consisted of the addition of parking, drainage, and utility improvements for the new building as well as an onsite detention pond. Other key design elements included the design and construction of a new lift station and force main, and a drainage analysis and culvert modifications for an adjacent drainage way, as well as the relocation of an existing traffic signal.

 

GarzaEMC provided full civil engineering and traffic design and consulting services for the project including site planning, grading and drainage, utility and traffic signal design.
