Campus Master Plan

San Marcos, Texas

The Texas State University System embarked on a new Campus Master Plan for the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses, looking forward to 2017-2027. The Master Plan focused on increasing academic research capacity, providing additional student housing on-campus, strengthening pedestrian corridors, and creating core program areas. In addition to the Main Campus in San Marcos, the Master Plan includes the Round Rock campus. The focus in Round Rock is to create a Health Professions Education Center. This Master Plan included planning for future buildings, the completion of a campus mall, and accommodating campus support systems. For both campuses, the existing campus utility infrastructure was reviewed and analyzed for the anticipated growth over the next 10 years. The existing campus storm-water management facilities were analyzed, and potential locations for future storm-water mitigation were identified, which included a focus on innovative water quality measures and retrofitting existing areas.
