As part of the 2017 Bond Program, the T.A. Brown Elementary School of the Austin Independent School District will receive a new 69,000 GSF state-of-the-art learning facility at an estimated cost of $30,797,000. The new facility will have a 522-student capacity and include flexible spaces that allow collaborative, interdisciplinary, learner-centered and project-based learning environments. The facility building systems will be sustainable and energy efficient, and include parking facilities, multiple indoor/outdoor environment areas, rain gardens and butterfly gardens, as well as raised planting beds. T.A. Brown Elementary School plans to protect and preserve all existing on-site trees, and mitigate, in the most economical and advantageous method, the existing trees in poor health that are removed due to construction. Design shall adhere to all federal, state and local municipality rules and regulations for development.

 

GarzaEMC is providing full design, site plan and civil engineering services, as well as permitting through the City of Austin and preparing a SWPPP consistent with TCEQ and City requirements.
