Engineer Associate (EIT), Land Development, Nashville, TN

GarzaEMC is a collaborative Team where each of our offices work together. The primary purpose of the Engineer Associate is to support our project engineers and managers in the development and execution of civil design projects. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who are eager to grow their technical skills and contribute to meaningful infrastructure and land development projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct due diligence and research in support of project design
  • Assist in the preparation and tracking of project schedules
  • Perform engineering design tasks under the supervision of a licensed engineer
  • Support the development of design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Contribute to the preparation of construction plans, technical reports, and supporting documents
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during permitting and review processes
  • Monitor design tasks to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
  • Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs and submittals
  • Obtain internal quality checks and approvals for completed work
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with team members and clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • I.T. certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • 1+ years of civil engineering experience preferred (recent graduates also encouraged to apply)
  • Working toward Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and PondPack is a plus

Professional Engineer (PE), Infrastructure, Austin & San Antonio, TX

GarzaEMC is a collaborative team with strong inter-office support across all locations. We are seeking a Professional Engineer to serve as an Assistant Project Manager, playing a key role in project design, financial oversight, and scheduling. This individual will act as the secondary point of contact for clients in the Project Manager’s absence and must be comfortable coordinating with team members at all levels—both internally and externally. The Professional Engineer is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of engineering design and managing permitting requirements for a range of civil infrastructure projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate project tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Perform and oversee civil engineering design and technical analyses
  • Manage development of construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Coordinate and manage project permitting efforts
  • Support communication with project stakeholders, including design teams, owners, and contractors
  • Assist in tracking project progress, maintaining schedules, and managing budgets
  • Oversee successful completion of assigned projects
  • Contribute to design of public infrastructure, including roadways, water and wastewater utilities, treatment facilities, and pump stations and lift stations

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 5–10 years of experience in site civil/land development engineering
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (high level required)
  • Experience with relevant software such as: GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, PondPack, MicroStation, and other water modeling tools

Professional Engineer (PE), Land Development, All Locations

GarzaEMC is a collaborative Team where each of our offices work together. A Professional Engineer (PE) serves as a technical and managerial lead on civil engineering design projects. This role functions as an Assistant Project Manager, responsible for overseeing design execution, coordinating permitting efforts, and supporting project delivery. The Professional Engineer is expected to take ownership of tasks, manage internal coordination, and serve as a secondary point of contact for clients when the Project Manager is unavailable.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the completion of project tasks
  • Lead the engineering design of civil/site development projects
  • Perform technical analyses and calculations in support of design deliverables
  • Manage and oversee the development of construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Coordinate and manage permitting processes with local and state regulatory agencies
  • Support communication with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Assist with project progress tracking, scheduling, and budget monitoring
  • Ensure successful delivery of assigned projects on time and within budget

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required)
  • 4+ years of experience in site civil and/or land development engineering
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with supporting software such as GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, WaterCAD, and PondPack is a plus
Senior Project Manager, Land Development, North Austin, TX

The Senior Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to lead complex civil engineering projects and drive successful outcomes across multiple market sectors. This role oversees the full project lifecycle, from proposal and design through permitting, construction support, and project closeout. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for technical excellence, financial performance, client satisfaction, and team development. As a trusted advisor and primary client contact, the Senior Project Manager ensures alignment between client goals and design execution. This role requires strong leadership, advanced technical knowledge, and proven experience managing teams and multiple concurrent projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, coordination, and delivery of civil engineering projects
  • Oversee technical design, QA/QC, and adherence to jurisdictional requirements
  • Prepare and manage proposals, contracts, budgets, invoicing, and accounts receivable
  • Maintain responsibility for financial performance and profitability of projects
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, consultants, contractors, and agencies
  • Provide mentorship, supervision, and performance development for project team members
  • Actively engage with clients to discuss ongoing work, performance feedback, and new opportunities
  • Represent the firm in professional and community organizations

 

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in site civil and/or land development engineering
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Advanced knowledge of design standards, permitting processes, and construction methods
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking, written correspondence, and team leadership
  • Proficiency in project management software and Civil 3D preferred
