The STAR One expansion project was a 16,000 square foot building addition to the existing STAR One building for research and commercialization efforts.  Expansion of the STAR One facility, which occupies the northernmost corner of a 38-acre tract of land  owned by Texas State University, provides a combined footprint of 36,000 square foot that incorporates state-of-the-art research and commercialization laboratories, multi-purpose meeting space, open office and support space, and collaboration  space.  The existing facility includes office space, conference room, clean space and wet labs for tenants.  The expansion provides additional office and lab space, conference room, and a multi-purpose room.

The Garza EMC Team provided civil engineering services. Site work associated with the  expansion included expanding the existing parking lot, adding sidewalks, grading, and utility connections. In addition, a drainage study and associated modifications to the existing detention pond will be completed to address the increase in runoff from the proposed improvements. Construction was completed in Spring 2016.
