Initially proposed at Westheimer Road near Eldridge Parkway, the West Houston Institute is intended to provide state of the art science, technology and engineering showcase, using 21st Century School philosophies and interactive learning environments. The project will combine experiential classrooms and labs, fully outfitted Makerspace, a facilitated collaboration space, a conference spac, and a connecting learning common to create intersections and networks of learning and innovation.
Garza EMC is providing full civil engineering services, utility design for new water, wastewater and dry utilities, grading and drainage, and helping in obtaining City of Houston Permit approval for the new campus. The site is almost entirely within the 100 year floodplain; drainage and floodplain mitigation are major components of the engineering analysis and design activities.
